Negin Mirsalehi shares the genuine story behind Gisou, a brand conceived out of an energy for bumble bees and haircare.
Would you be able to talk us through your vocation?
My profession truly began while I was all the while finishing my investigations in advertising. During this time, I figured it would be a great outlet to keep a blog about my greatest interests: excellence and style. I was one of the main bloggers on Instagram, and I surmise my substance reverberated in light of the fact that I immediately got one of the quickest developing magnificence and design influencers all around the world. My directs didn’t take off without help from anyone else – I unquestionably needed to work at it and post consistently.
I got the best remarks and inquiries regarding my hair. Along these lines, I was enlivened to share my magnificence mysteries through a stunner line. In 2015, Maurits and I dispatched Gisou, a line of honey bee based haircare items. From that point forward, I keep a vocation as an influencer, yet additionally as a business visionary.
What motivated you to begin your own image?
At the point when I initially began writing for a blog, my substance was based on photos of my outfits and excellence tips. At one point, I shared a greater amount of my own life, including my family’s honey bee garden. I was astonished by how intrigued my supporters were in my family legacy and the honey bees.
My dad is a beekeeper and my mom is a stylist. We grew up utilizing nectar from our honey bee garden for a wide assortment of purposes, and my mum utilized it in her hand crafted hair items, which she likewise utilized on me. I was propelled to share my hand crafted haircare secret utilizing nectar from our honey bee garden. We dispatched Gisou with the Honey Infused Hair Oil, which depends on a hand crafted family formula figured by my mum. Gisou is the undertaking I am generally pleased with – it’s enlivened by my family and legacy and consolidates the entirety of my interests for honey bees, nature, family and excellence into one brand.

What was the process of starting your own brand like?
Maurits and I started Gisou in our living room. We really focused on taking the time to develop the brand and our first product slowly. We created packaging, branding, and the website from scratch and learned a lot along the way. It was, and still is hard work, but mostly, it was a lot of fun. We also focused on building a Gisou community. We hosted pop-ups in Paris and New York and involved our community in product development decisions and other projects along the way. Our community is and always will be at the heart of what we do. Gisou continues to be a full-time job, but it’s something that we’re both really passionate about, so it never really feels like work.
How has Gisou evolved since it launched?
Since we launched the Honey Infused Hair Oil in 2015, we’ve focused on growing the brand slowly and only selling our products via our own channels. We grew our product range to a line of Honey Infused products focusing on nourishment and hydration, and a line of Propolis Infused products for styling. We’ve also launched several sets and tools, such as our limited edition Curling Tool, which we purposefully took more than 2 years to carefully design and develop – it’s encased in a 100% sustainable tool case made of paper pulp. Just last year, we partnered with Sephora in North America and more recently in the Middle East. At this point, Ican only say that there’s much more to come in the coming years.
How did you find your way into the beauty space?
Beauty is one of my passions. My mother is a hairdresser, and I grew up always receiving the best advice and tips from her. Through her, I learned the importance of healthy hair and of taking good care of maintaining it. I used my mum’s homemade hair oil using honey from my father’s bee garden since I was a little girl. As my followers showed such interest in my hair and my family’s beekeeping heritage, I was inspired to share this homemade haircare secret through Gisou.

What was the way toward beginning your own image like?
Maurits and I began Gisou in our parlor. We truly centered around setting aside the effort to foster the brand and our first item gradually. We made bundling, marking, and the site without any preparation and took in a great deal en route. It was, and still is difficult work, yet generally, it was loads of fun. We likewise centered around building a Gisou people group. We facilitated pop-ups in Paris and New York and included our local area in item advancement choices and different ventures en route. Our people group is and consistently will be at the core of what we do. Gisou keeps on being an everyday work, except it’s something that we’re both truly energetic about, so it never truly feels like work.
How has Gisou advanced since it dispatched?
Since we dispatched the Honey Infused Hair Oil in 2015, we’ve zeroed in on developing the brand gradually and just selling our items by means of our own channels. We developed our item reach to a line of Honey Infused items zeroing in on sustenance and hydration, and a line of Propolis Infused items for styling. We’ve likewise dispatched a few sets and devices, for example, our restricted version Curling Tool, which we intentionally required over 2 years to painstakingly plan and create – it’s encased in a 100% reasonable device case made of paper mash. Simply last year, we joined forces with Sephora in North America and all the more as of late in the Middle East. Now, I can just say that there’s significantly more to come in the coming years.
How could you discover your way into the magnificence space?
Magnificence is one of my interests. My mom is a stylist, and I grew up continually getting the best exhortation and tips from her. Through her, I took in the significance of solid hair and of taking great consideration of looking after it. I utilized my mum’s custom made hair oil utilizing nectar from my dad’s honey bee garden since I was a young lady. As my devotees showed such interest in my hair and my family’s beekeeping legacy, I was enlivened to share this custom made haircare mysterious through Gisou.

On the furthest edge of the range, what have been the achievements?
I’m pleased with a ton of things identified with my own blog, however seeing Gisou develop into the haircare brand it’s become has by a wide margin been my proudest accomplishment. Facilitating our first spring up, dispatching with Sephora in North America and the Middle East are a couple of the achievements. Seeing Gisou’s takeover of the Dubai Mall window was unquestionably a squeeze me second.
This is ‘The Beauty Issue’ – how would you characterize excellence?
Magnificence is an exceptionally close to home thing – it implies something other than what’s expected to everybody. As far as I might be concerned, excellence comes from satisfaction, fearlessness and truthfulness. I imagine that on the off chance that you are accomplishing something that you’re enthusiastic about it truly reverberates and radiates through.
