BREAKING: Theatrical Trailer of the hindi version of Allu Arjun’s Ala vaikunthapurramuloo to release on January 20; film expected to release in 2000 screens across the country
The third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has led to all the January films getting postponed. After Delhi shut down cinemas, everyone expected the other state governments to follow suit.
But except a handful of states, cinema halls are functioning, albeit at 50% occupancy and minus night shows. Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01, starring Allu Arjun, thankfully has managed to attract audiences but the footfalls are naturally depleting week after week. The exhibitors stared at losses and even temporary closure due to the lack of content.
However, on Monday, they all had a reason to cheer after it was announced that the Hindi version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo would be released in cinemas on January 26. Manish Shah of Goldmines Telefilms, who released Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 in Hindi, also holds the rights to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The latter also stars Allu Arjun and the original Telugu version was a blockbuster. In the words of Manish Shah, ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is the biggest non-Baahubali hit down South.’ Hence, a lot of hopes are pinned on the Hindi version.
Bollywood Hungama recently had an exclusive chat with Manish Shah and he shared some interesting details about the release plans of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi version. When asked when the theatrical trailer of the film will be out, he replied, ‘It’ll be out on Thursday, January 20.’ The teaser of the film was released on Tuesday, January 18.
As for the screen count, Manish Shah said, ‘We are hoping to release it in 2000 screens across the country.’
When asked about the promotional plans, Manish Shah made an interesting point, ‘You can see the promos of the film on our channel, Dhinchak TV. Our whole promotional strategy is focused on the platform where our target audience is present. We plan to target the single screen audience. And they watch movie channels. So, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s teaser and trailer will play in full swing on the movie channels. We’ll also give ads in papers. We are not targeting the elite audience at all. They’ll anyway be informed about Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s release through social media. However, we want to inform viewers who are not on social media but who watch TV channels and read newspapers. Even with movie channels, we have picked those that have a substantial reach in both urban and rural areas, and where fans of dubbed films are present. Dhinchak TV is one such channel; its USP is that it only plays dubbed films.’
A trade expert said, ‘The promotional campaign of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi version is of less than 10 days. But it’ll be effective. It’s a good way of cashing in on the success achieved by Allu Arjun with the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01. The original is a fantastic entertainer and just what the Hindi masses would want to watch on the big screen. For the exhibitors, Allu Arjun and his films have emerged as a godsend in these trying times.’
Besides Allu Arjun, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo also stars Pooja Hegde and Tabu.

FIR filed against Ranveer Singh for nude photoshoot after lawyer complains he ‘insulted modesty of women’
An FIR was filed against actor Ranveer Singh for posting nude picture of himself on Instagram from a recent magazine photoshoot
Chembur police have registered a case against actor Ranveer Singh for posting nude pictures on his Instagram account. Ranveer has been booked under section 292 (dealing with obscene materials falls within this exception thereby addressing the issue of public decency and morality), 293 (obscene objects to young person) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) including 67 (A) of the Information Technology act.
The written application was submitted at the Chembur police station by a Mumbai based lawyer Vedika Chaubey. Chaubey alleged in her complaint that actor has hurt the sentiments of women in the general and insulted their modesty through his photographs.
Ranveer Singh, a recipient of several awards, is known for his roles in films like Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gully Boy. Ranveer posed for international magazine Paper this month. The photoshoot, that showed him posing naked in a few pictures was met with some shock and some applause by his fans and celebrity friends.
Later, the NGO and a woman lawyer submitted separate complaints against the actor at Chembur police station. The application filed by the lawyer, a former journalist, had also demanded a case against Singh on the charge of intent to outrage the modesty of women, police earlier said.
In an interview to Paper Mag, Ranveer said, “I work f****** hard. I want to wear nice shit. Eat my f****** a**, I will wear nice f****** shit. I bust my balls, I work 20-hour days. I’m not complaining — I’m only too happy and too grateful — but I go f****** hard. I will f****** buy Gucci, I will wear it from head to toe. Anybody who judges me can eat my f****** a**.”
Ranveer was recently seen in Netflix’s interactive special Ranveer vs Wild with Bear Grylls which received a positive response from viewers. As far as films are concerned, he will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s next directorial film Cirkus with Jacqueline Fernandes and Pooja Hegde. The film is slated to release on the occasion of Christmas 2022.

Hindustan Times report claims that KTina actress was offered a role in the film but she turned down as she didn’t want to play the second fiddle in its ensemble cast. The film also starred Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, and Sonakshi Sinha in key roles.
Murder 4
Reportedly, a fourth film currently titled Murder 4 is stated to be under Vishesh Films production. As per the ABP report, Disha Patani was offered the lead role opposite Emraan Hashmi. However, she turned down the offer after considering Tiger Shroff’s advice.
Now Disha is gearing up for her next release Ek Villian Returns. In the film, she will be seen sharing the screen with John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, and Tara Sutaria for the very first time.
